Catching Up

Hi friends! Last week was really a whirlwind. Here are some photos and little blips about what has been going on! I was a bit absent last week but it was for a good cause -- I have a new furry friend in the house.  After I tried to rescue a pug the week before and he was found by his owner, a girl at my office said she knew someone that was giving her pug away because they could no longer afford to keep him.  I asked a lot of questions about the dog -- how is he with kids, other dogs, is he nice, etc.  At the end of the day, I couldn't have this little one go to the pound and I truly think it was a sign from Little Baby Jesus that I could finally have one after wanting one for so long.  You will find some photos of Rocky further down.  We are trying him out, and if it doesn't work out we will at least keep him here until we find the perfect home for him.

Also, Little A came in town on Thursday for the NKOTB concert and we had a super long girls weekend with her and E {plus a bridal shower Saturday that I had to go to} so I have barely looked up since last week.  You know you have a really decent and loving boyfriend on your hands when you drop not one, but two dogs off at his place for the weekend and he doesn't complain at all.

Breakfast Date at Buttermilk Kitchen with my favorite!

Lunchtime Pinkberry.

Lately I have needed a lot of Pinkberry in my life. Judge if you want.  I got a giant one for lunch the other day and it can truly heal almost any bad day.

Sweet Rocky!

Perching at 3 Putt's place.

blurry photos at New Kids.

I got like one blurry photo of me and Little A at the concert. Guess we were having too much fun to take a lot of pictures! Excuse my hair.  I have a new baby at home. There's not time to do it right now.

Late night stop at The Sky Lounge at the Glen Hotel in Atlanta.

"Who are these people and when can I go home?!"

Still experimenting with some new art for the bedroom makeover.  The Housewife got me several prints and we are leaning things on things trying to be "artsy" and "eclectic" and "stylish".  Mostly that's prob not working.  It might help if I turned the seam on that lamp shade to the back -- no?

Rocky has jokes.  He thinks he should sleep on 3 Putt's kitchen table.

We finally had some Sunday lounge time but I got edged off the sofa fairly quickly!

Have any of you brought a new dog into the house before? Mostly I am feeling really overwhelmed and insane but I think that is just because Mom and Jer are still here because their condo isn't finished yet so it just seems like there are 18 people her rather than just one new dog.  Instead of 3 of us there are 5.  And when 3 Putt is here there are 6 of us.

Sunday Mornings

Happy Sunday, y'all!  How is the weekend almost over? I had a fun play date/date on Friday with Rocky where we met up at the park with our dogs {Hogan and Luna} and walked and talked and let them meet and play.  Hogan was a gentleman and very well behaved just like I expected him to be but Luna is still just a puppy so I am pretty sure it wore him out just hanging out with her for 2 hours! We let them loose in a baseball field {even though I can hardly get Hogan to come back so I can put his leash on} and it was fun for me to see him just run around and play.  Sometimes I forget how fast and athletic he is even though he is a 8 year old puppy.  It made me really happy to see him stretch his legs and run and bounce around.  I'm still not sure how I feel about Rocky.  He's been trying to play hard to get with me which just results in us hardly talking because I am not going to be texting anyone to ask for a date.  I don't get him.

It's a blissful morning here because I am up early getting some work done while Em and Little A are sleeping in.  I love having my girls here for a weekend!!!!  Hosting is so much fun!  We've been out and about visiting The Housewife and playing with #1 and holding new babies, drinking champagne "just because", and catching up with each other.  We had a wonderful dinner last night at Canoe {review to come} with Elise but we didn't get home until 11:30 or so {which is apparently now late if you are approaching 30}.  We had "big" plans to hit Little Alley Steak in Roswell for some after dinner drinks but there was no way that was happening.  I had coffee after dinner and once we got home we all promptly went to bed.  Funny how life changes.

This morning I'm listening to...

I also picked up another book this past week. I needed to get my head out of that Outlander series for a bit.  I've been meaning to get the prequel to Cassandra Clare's YA series City of Glass {etc} and Em was kind enough to lend me her copy of Clockwork Angel.

And once the girls get up we will having coffee and making pumpkin pancakes.
Grabbed this recipe off of Pinterest and it's super easy and delicious! Great for family breakfast.

All this just means I am one of the happiest girls in the greater Atlanta area today!
What do you with your girlfriends when they are in town? Traditions? Breakfast fare? I want to know.

Love you. Mean it.

Rocky didn't have a gym in Russia. He just had snow, a big log, a dog sled and some boulders.

The Single Gal and I are big Rocky fans by the way. You heard me.

I feel like I might as well be a contestant for the Biggest Loser right now. It seems like each time I get into a  good rhythm of working out then I have a week where I can't get anything in at all. I need to get my big  ass into gear. The Single Gal and I have signed up to run the Las Vegas Marathon on December 4th. I have run two marathons and several half marathons but I was in the best running shape I've been in prior to getting pregnant with #1. Now it feels like I'm having to make a come back from the dead. You heard me, the living dead. I have lost almost all of those pesky pregnancy pounds but lets face it......everything has shifted and is mushy. I could shove a burrito down Miranda Kerr's throat.....miss "three months post birth and I'm back on the runway for Victoria Secret." Vomit. Double Vomit for good measure.

So I got outside yesterday and pounded pavement for an almost 4 mile run from my house yesterday. I wanted to cop out and go to the gym and use the treadmill to be truthful. However, I can basically be done with a workout by the time I get to the gym and get halfway through the run on a wimpy treadmill if I just run from home. It was hot. It's hilly. I have to dodge cars and run by some pretty scary Rottweiler pooches. The Rottweiler's are in a fence but I'm still not very comfortable about my ability to out run them should the situation arise. Oh, and did I mention I'm a little wary of snakes this time a year? I ran by a dead one in the road. Great.

I'm glad I ran outside even though it was tough and about the hottest part of the day. I'm glad because that's what separates me from the couch potatoes. That's what gets me one step closer to being tough like Mirinda Carfrae. (I could leave her hair style but her body..........yes, please.) But I'm guessing she works pretty hard at that, like it's her job........wait, it really is her job.

If you need me I'll be trying to channel Rocky.....maybe I'll be using an ax to cut some more trees in the yard down.
