{i know that guacamole is extra}

even though we played a great game, it's safe to say that nail-biting football game yesterday with the Dawgs did me in.  i watched with The Housewife at her place after doing some major chores yesterday.  so we will do an "easy" post today.  and also remind everyone that it's great to be a georgia bulldawg.

happy sunday.

{this shirt speaks to me on many different levels. i kind of love it.}

seriously though, i know guac is extra.

summer is leaving. vacation is over.  my half-marathon is october 20th.  time to grind.  3 Putt has really been watching what he eats which is making me look like a real fatty when I continually ask him to take me to the Krispy Kreme drive thru for dessert after a dinner date.  especially when he declines to indulge in glazed, Krispy Kreme goodness with me.

{working on better food for the remainder of 2013.}

Easy Sunday

I originally had a ton of chores I wanted to get through this weekend since I was in Savannah last weekend but I think I'm just going to take it easy today. I have been so stressed at my new job that I came home with another migraine on Friday night.  Seriously - I saw 3 Putt for 3o minutes and tried to eat dinner with him at my place and had to go to bed immediately (after I had been in bed since I got home from work).  I felt a lot better Saturday but had a lot to do -- long run, lots of laundry, a birthday party for my friend's sweet baby girl, and date night (!) with 3 Putt.

So today is about priorities and tackling some fun stuff as well.

I never made my Friday run so I did push through and put 30 minutes on the treadmill, get some gas in my car, and finished some laundry.

Fun stuff -- I'm taking on the Ikea Vittsjo shelving hack as part of my bedroom update.  I have a big armoire in my room that holds zero clothing.  There is literally nothing inside.  I try to keep all my clothes in the dresser or my closet.  So I'm thinking I can put the shelving in my bedroom to lighten things up a bit and make it feel less heavy.  Also, funnily enough I need something to go in the guest room so over to the other side of the house the armoire will go.  But for now I have a few days of spray painting ahead of me.

starting point:  gray/metal looking

hoping to end -- gold and fabulous.

Coffee Talk

Happy Sunday, folks! I'm sitting here admiring my freshly manicured nails, morning sunshine, two sweet pups, and drinking some much needed coffee (my dogs rise even earlier than I do).  I am actually excited that I have been back to some regular blogging and regular life.  I don't know what it was about the past week but things just sort of seemed to settle down and feel more "normal".  But I'm not even sure what changed.  I'd say that maybe I am getting more relaxed...but that's pretty much impossible.  Or it could be that I went a week without my nails painted and I was able to set the world right yesterday once I got my beauty routine back in action.

Let's get out a big hooray for The Housewife taking on widgets and HTML code to get us over to bloglovin' since google reader is dying sometime soon. The link should be over to the side -- we'll see y'all there!

I think Mom and Jer will truly be moving out sometime early this week.  I'm probably going to have some really unhappy dogs on my hands that were used to some company while I was at work.  I'll really be super sad when Mom takes her coffee maker home and the fact that my wine rack will be considerably empty.  Also, all my plants are infinitely happier when she and her green thumb are here.  Someone remind me to water everything regularly!

Rocky seems to really be settling in.  I guess my only advice to the person getting the second dog -- maybe wait until you can afford a housekeeper.  I'm hoping that after he is groomed later this week there will be less shedding.  But he has more hair than his 60 lb brother.  However, he remains sweet and obedient and doesn't eat much so he is staying.

I'm off for some Sunday fun -- dog walks, reading, catching up on blogs, maybe a little shopping and cooking.  What are y'all up to?

Love you. Mean it.

Weekend Wrap Up

It was a jam-packed 3 day weekend for this Single Gal--what about y'all?!

To start, it was totally worth every little bit of sleep I lost to get up early and watch the Royal Wedding with The Housewife and Little Ashlie! It was amazing.  The Housewife was very well researched and fed us tons of stats during the initial viewing.  You would have thought she worked for CNN Friday morning.  Also, if I am being honest, I have probably watched a few re-runs of the entire event at some point this weekend.

The dress was perfect.  The kiss was perfect.

I don't know how Kate looked so relaxed.  Cheers to the Duke and Duchess!

I got to see one of my best, most fabulous, and funny friends Elise later that night for patio drinks at a lovely place in Atlanta--JCT Kitchen.  The upstairs bar menu is different than the dinner menu I usually partake in downstairs which was a nice change. (Check out our Tumblr for obsessive photos of Royal Wedding stuff and a great hispstamatic of Friday night's patio view!) We also enjoyed steak tartar with my old roomie Chip who stopped by.  The weather was perfect and Elise seriously stalked a great patio table for us. I was a bit late due to the round of golf I played with Big J and P after the Royal Wedding viewing but I rallied and had a great evening full of laughter.

I stayed close to home on Saturday--except for a trip to the vet and a visit with The Housewife and #1.  I am trying to learn to relax and just go with the flow of things and Saturday was an exercise in this area for sure.   It's just so hard for me to not want to know the next step of everything in my life and to not plan every minute out.  I am trying to work more for living in the moment, but find this makes me nervous--in a good and a bad way. Great BBQ,  great company, and fro-yo were Saturday highlights!

Sunday Funday consisted of brunch at a very quaint cottage off of Peachtree and Piedmont in the city.  Except we had seriously terrible service!!!! I will never go back--which is sad, because their quaint little house and patio for this restaurant were so beautiful!!!!  Y'all--we sat at our table for probably 40 minutes before anyone finally made an effort to bring us the drinks we ordered.  Drinks. Not food.

Browsed a Borders going out of business in Atlanta and bought more books which was super fun.  This makes a grand total of 3 books purchased this weekend making my "to read" pile on my nightstand ridiculously tall. I need to get to work so I can conquer the totem poll of books sitting beside me. Like, tonight. Like, right now...

Love you. Mean it.
